Cases from the Helpdesk Revit; Install Error: 1: 5 2: Failed to load FNP_ACT_Installer.dll. 3: 126

We recently closed a case where a user was installing Revit and was reporting the installs quit approximately half way through with this error:

The reason why isn’t clear but most likely is happening with multi-installs of several Autodesk products and will more likely show when installing any Autodesk Educational package such as Autodesk Education Master Suite or Autodesk Design Academy. The problem has to do with a conflict between AutoCAD and Revit installers.

Since not all machines will exhibit this issue, the best way to fix that is to go to a working machine that installed fine and copy the file FNP_Act_Installer.dll from the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdLM\R1 and paste it into the same folder on the effected machine. The installer will look there and use the updated version.

Be mindful that a FNP_ACT_Installer.dll file from a 64 bit machine will not work in a 32 bit machine. Autodesk has a link with two dll files one for 64 and another for 32 to download and copy to the folder.
