Strike One… Strikethrough… and other text enhancements.

AutoCAD 2013 has also added a few more text features to improve its capabilities and ease of use.

The first added feature is the new Strikethrough style that spans its functionality into Mtext, Mleader, Dimension and Table components. Just turn on during the text command or edit existing objects by highlighting the section you want to modify and use the new Strikethrough button on the Text Editor Tab.

The next Text improvement increases its ease of use when selecting a font style. Autodesk has increased the number of display rows (Approx. 20) in the drop-down lists for the Text Style and ArcAligned dialog boxes, as well as in the Text Editor ribbon tab (Approx. 15).

The last improvements we will cover are display enhancements.  Autodesk has added Leaders to the TextToFront tool list.  The Mleader text box was updated to include a margin to provide a minimum width between the text and its frame to avoid text overflow. An updated Wipeout tool includes an option for displaying, but not plotting, the wipeout frame. You can set this new control from the Frames option within the Wipeout command (or by the new WIPEOUTFRAME system variable).

I know that Autodesk always tries to improve AutoCAD, (even though a good number of people frown upon drastic change), I wanted to point out these simple, but useful additions that they make… that may have gone unnoticed.
