This blog is the team effort of Patrick Villella and Ron Couillard. We are both Application Engineers with CADsoft Consulting, here in Phoenix Arizona. The job description “Application Engineer” is just code for “your job is never the same two days in a row” and means that there is always something new to learn. We work with Civil Engineering, Surveying, and Design firms all over the Southwest and always enjoy figuring out how to make Civil 3D purr, helping our clients get the most out of this great software app.

Patrick Villella’s Bio

For over nine years, Patrick has been providing customized consulting, training, and implementation services to firms using Civil 3D®, Revit®, 3ds Max®, and Buzzsaw®. He has worked closely with over a hundred firms throughout the Southwest. He is a regular speaker at ASUs Master of Real Estate Development program. Having used Civil 3D since its beta stages, he enjoys sharing his experience with anyone interested in harnessing this dynamic software.

Hey everyone, this is Patrick. Thanks for checking out the blog. I have been working with all of these tools for a long, long time and I love them (well, most of the time!) I also really love sharing things I’ve learned and figured out with other people who are going through the same issues and have questions about things I’ve run into. I love just about anything having to do with design, whether it’s buildings, communities, cities, rooms, web sites, magazines, films — you name it.

I live in Phoenix, AZ with my lovely wife, Rachel and we try to get up to the snow as much as possible (why do I live in the desert again?) I love snowboarding, wakeboarding, kiteboarding, pretty much anything involving a board and speed.

Ron Couillard’s Bio
Ron has over 10 years experience in civil CAD construction-document production for commercial, military, and airport projects. He provides technical expertise and training, including software installations and product customization, in the support of AutoCAD® Civil 3D®, AutoCAD® Land Desktop, Civil Design and Survey, and AutoCAD Map 3D software products. He is also an Autodesk Certified Instructor and a Certified Technical Trainer. Additionally, Ron is a Certified Expert in both Civil 3D and AutoCAD Map 3D.
